Unforgettable, at times discouraging, but very eventful describes my summer to the tea. My brother’s wedding was Sept. 17th and it is official I have been unemployed for the past five months. I tried to stay busy with my goals of losing weight, temporary jobs, interviews, and networking events. Searching for a job is a full time job in itself; I attend PRSA Chicago networking events, career fairs, and spend countless hours at my laptop applying for jobs. I have tried it all! I eventually will get a job it just takes time and patients.
At one point over the summer I thought for sure I was getting a job, I was doing a temporary job that was going very well and had an interview one morning with a marketing agency. It turned out that the temporary job eventually ended and the marketing agency did not hire me. Although, it didn’t work out I had a small taste of working downtown and what it would be like. I am a pro at interviews!! Every interview I go on I have used it as practice and if it did not work out I would use it as a learning tool in improving the next time!!
Since, I still don’t have a full-time job; I had some extra time on my hands to give my brother and his fiancé a really special gift. I made them a gift that they could look back on and remember, a slideshow of their story. After my dad’s speech at the rehearsal dinner I played the movie for them, it was a hit with everyone, especially their closest friends!! As much as everyone enjoyed watching it I definitely enjoyed putting it together…Hope you enjoy it!
